My slip

Today I write to you a slighlty hurt man. I started this week comfertably in 1st place in my CBS league. I, in fact, boosted by a nothing short of amazing staff, including CC Sabathia, Chad Billingsley, Joba Chamberlain, Ryan Dempster, Felix Hernandez, Roy Oswalt, Joe Nathan, Tim Lincecum, and Edinson Volquez. Then I have a steller batting crew as well... Victor Martinez, Mark DeRosa, Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp, Alfonso Soriano, Shane Victorino, Carlos Guillen, Edwin Encarnacion and also Jhonny Peralta. Then it went wrong.
First Oswalt, the Joba got injured. Encarnacion and Guillen got injured. Peralta had a huge slump. As has Hernandez. I have responded by putting Crosby at SS, instead of Peralta instead he starts hitting the ball again. Then, I got Adrian Beltre and Mike Napoli from free agency. I put Hideki Matsui at Utility. My team is in tatters, and is currently langushing in 4th place, and falling fast.
However, all is not lost. I may have a cheeky trade up my sleeve, which, if accepted or even rejected, will be posted soon.

Todays prediction (05/10/09)

My prediction for today is....Bobby Crosby. This guy has had a hard time as of late, and is only 2% likely to start for the A's this season. Yet, he is eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, U, and his bat is also picking up. Majorly, however, injuries to people such as Nomar Garciaparra have ushered Crosby into the lineup, where, considering he can play basically anywhere in the infield, as well as Garciaparra being extremely injury prone, we may see more of Crosby than expected. A good backup for a mixed or AL league.

MELKY CABRERA- This guy isnt a starter, for sure, but if you have an under achieving bench player, or even starting OF, then Melky could be the cheap, and maybe even good replcement. At the moment, he may only be temporary. Yet, despite some "expert" opinion, Melky could find himself batting pretty much this season with the Yanks, needing something different. If may be the time for Melky to step up, and prove him talent.

Don't ever make the following mistake.....If you plan on dropping a fantasy player for another, please check that it is the guy you want... I saw Francisco Rodriguez on the Free Agent pool, and I thought it wasmy lucky day. For those who don't know, Rodriguez, or K Rod, is usually a top ranked pitcher, so him being in the pool is alomost un- thought of. Little did I know, to my own stupid dismay, I was rushing out of the door, and didnt read his stats....Francisco Rodriguez of the Angels...TRUE.....K Rod... FALSE....It was a MINOR leaguer. Needless to say, he is now nestling in the Free Agent pool...with Melky Cabrera on my bench...I havent got my pitcher, but at least I have a player who is likely yo step on an MLB diamond this season
